Friday, May 8, 2020, 5:00 P.M.

The Georgia Department of Public Health (GDPH) is reporting 32,126 confirmed cases of COVID-19 throughout the state. The reported case count of COVID-19 in Morgan County is currently at thirty (30).

All Georgian’s are now eligible for COVID-19 testing. If you would like to schedule a COVID-19 test, please call 706-340-0996. This testing is conducted through GDPH and is free of charge. Please remember that people should not arrive unannounced or without a scheduled appointment at a specimen collection site, hospital, emergency room or other health care facility.

As of Monday, May 11 at 8am, all county offices will be re-opened to the public with only a couple of limitations. First, we are still all required to abide by the 6ft social distancing rule. When you enter the lobby of the county building that you are going to visit, please look for signage to direct you where to go and stand. You will likely exit from a different door then you entered. Please stand on the line on the floor as it marks 6ft from the person in front and/or behind you. Please limit who you bring into the office with you. Only the person conducting business should be entering the office at this time. If you are sick or think you may be sick or have been around someone who is or has been sick, please do not come into the building. Instead, call the number of the department in which you need service and they will provide further instruction.

Unfortunately, the Senior Center will remain closed for in-client services through at least June 12, 2020 in order to comply fully with the Governor’s order.
