The County’s facilities are managed by the Public Buildings Department. The County owns a number of buildings quite diverse in age, style, and condition; as such, the maintenance of its facilities is a full-time job.
Morgan County recently renovated the Denon Industrial Facility to become the Morgan County Public Safety Complex, which occupies approximately 106,000 SF within a 186,000 SF building. The project consisted in retro-fitting an existing manufacturing plant which includes space for 100% expansion of the detention area. The complex includes a 192-bed detention facility with all services, 911/EOC, and EMS. It is located at the intersection of Highway 83 and Lions Club Drive in Madison.Cost was estimated at $10.5 million. TheProject consultant was Pond & Company and the constructor was Hogan Construction Group, LLC.
The building is now occupied and fully functioning as Morgan County's Public Safety Complex. Visit the Sheriff's Office page to see Inauguration photos and videos.
